多様性の中の統一

これは戦争の耐えない世界の、ある王国のお話です。互いが互いの力を見せつけ合い、弱きを支配することで力を誇示していました。戦いに勝利した国はより支配を広げ、勝利に酔っていましたが、父親を失った子どもたちや、夫を失くした妻たちなどの国民にとっては、戦争は覚めることのない悪夢のようなものでした。ビネカ・ワルナ王国の王女であるアンジャニもその例外ではなく、国民たちと同様に、彼女も一ヶ月前に夫を戦場で亡くしました。当初から王女は夫の出征に賛成はしていませんでした。彼女は、戦争による力の見せつけ合いは悲劇しか生まないと考えていたのです。伴侶を亡くした王女にとっては、この世界で悪夢そのものでした。かつては笑顔で飾られた美しい顔も、夫を亡くした今は、輝きを失い、悲嘆にくれています。

アンジャニ王女の父親である国王は、そんな娘の様子を心配していました。娘の様子を診るために医者を呼び、あらゆるお薬を与えました。それでも、王女は悲嘆のあまり、顔色も悪く、ご飯も食べず、暗い表情のままです。医者は王女の状態は身体的な病気ではなく、精神からくるものであると結論づけました。彼女を治す唯一の方法は彼女の顔に再び笑顔を取り戻させるような気持ちにさせることです。そのため、国王は家来に命じて、王女の笑顔を再び取り戻させるために大会を開かせました。王女の笑顔を取り戻す手がかりを提供できる国には報酬として王国の財産の半分を与えよう、という知らせを全世界に広めました。国王には王女の笑顔を取り戻すと同時に、世界から戦争をなくすという２つの目的があったのです。

さて、世界中の出演者が王女の笑顔を取り戻せるのか？世界の戦争が止められるのか？

Unity In Diversity

Once upon a time there was not a single day passed without a war. The world was not a peaceful place, each of the kingdoms wanted to prove their own strength by trying to conquer others. The wars lasted for several decades, and no kingdom was willing to give up. However, the long wars only brought misery to the people and commoners, especially for the wives and children who were left by their husbands and fathers, died in battlefield.

The dreadful effect of war also struck Putri Anjyani, a princess from Kingdom of Bhinneka Warna. Her beloved husband died in the battlefield. From the very beginning Putri Anjyani strongly opposed her husband’s decision to fight for their kingdom, she felt that war was not the answer for all the differences. Putri Anjyani could not accept the reality. Every day she mourned for her husband’s death, and slowly lost her motivations to live. She stopped smiling, and her bright, beautiful face became pale and gloomy. The king, father of Putri Anjyani, was worried about his daughter. He ordered the vice regent to call the royal doctor to cure the princess. But still, Putri Anjyani could not smile. The royal doctor told the king that the only way to cure her was to give her happiness.

 Therefore, the king established a talent competition in order to make the princess smile again, and as the reward, the winner would be given half of the Bhinneka Warna Kingdom’s fortune. And so the news was spread to the whole world. Will the competition make the princess smile again? Will it stop the wars?
